Merry Do Beauty Products Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “the Company”) regards the protection of personal information as an important issue concerning the rights of individuals and believes that the handling of personal information in an appropriate manner is an important responsibility.
In the appropriate use, management, and protection of personal information, the Company abides by the Law on the Protection of Personal Information and all other relevant laws and ordinances as well as the Company's Personal Information Protection Policy.
The Company also does its utmost for the appropriate management of personal information through familiarizing all employees with the policy.
Personal Information Protection Policy
The Company shall strive to protect personal information by complying with personal information protection laws and ordinances, government guidelines and all other relevant standards.
In handling personal information, the Company shall specify whenever possible its objectives in using such information, and only collect personal information within the scope that is necessary for the achievement of these objectives.
In addition, changes to these objectives shall only be made to the extent that such changes are reasonably recognized as having sufficient relevance to the objectives prior to such changes, and if any changes are made, either the person who provided the information concerned shall be notified of the changes in objectives, or a public announcement shall be made.
(Definition of personal information)
Personal information is defined as information pertaining to an individual and refers to an individual’s name, date of birth, place of work, email address, telephone number, address and/or any other description of a person that can identify the individual.
The Company shall strive to prevent the leaking, destruction, loss or corruption of personal information by managing and storing it securely.
All employees of the Company shall do their utmost to manage personal information in such a way that its security is guaranteed.
In cases where the handling of personal information is entrusted to a third party, the Personal Information Protection Manager shall provide all the necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure that the personal information concerned is managed in such a way that its security is guaranteed.
The Personal Information Protection Manager shall decide on measures necessary for the achievement of the purposes of the above items and strive to ensure that they are implemented.
The Company shall not provide any personal information obtained from customers to a third party without their prior consent, except in the following cases:
- The Company is required by law or ordinance to disclose or provide personal information.
- The Company deems that such disclosure or provision is necessary to protect a human life, body or property, or is in the public good or the interests of the customer concerned or a third party.
- Entrusting the handling of personal information to a third party for the purposes of delivery etc. pertaining to the Company's business dealings with the customer is within the scope that is necessary for the achievement of the objectives in using such information.
In cases where the handling of personal information is entrusted to a third party, they shall be required to enter into an agreement to the effect that they will not leak or use the information for any other than the intended purpose, and that they will carefully manage the information and carry out the appropriate supervision.
In cases where a customer requests the disclosure or notification of the purpose of use of personal information held by the Company, unless such request falls under the exceptions of the law, the Company shall notify the customer without delay.
In addition, in cases where it is deemed that the personal information is incorrect and the Company is requested to correct, add to, or delete the personal information, the Company shall investigate the matter without delay in accordance with the relevant laws and ordinances, and based on the results of this investigation, correct, add to, or delete the information as necessary.
The Company shall continually review and improve internal guidelines relating to the handling of personal information.
